HTML5 introduced support for fonts not built into the client's browser. Font files can be provided by the website server and applied to each webpage as required. These fonts must be licensed from the designer for web use. However Google is making available over 600 fonts for use on the web royalty-free. Five of these are included as an example on this page. To see Google's collection of over 600 fonts available for your website, click on the link at the bottom of the page. Selection is key, a small number of fonts should be selected carefully for one website to avoid duplication of effort and excessive download times. More exotic fonts are usually less readable and should be saved for titles, headings. For general page content, fonts should be chosen with a focus on clarity / readability.
